Pre-Cyborg History:

Orlando came from a wealthy class of farmers who owned a 20-acre farm in Barcelona. He is well educated and quite literate, learning important values and laboring hard in the fields of not only study, but the physical fields of tending to his inherited farmland. He was hoping to become a civil engineer but his dreams were crushed when he was suddenly put into poverty by a ruling tyrant who demanded heavy taxes. As times grew worse and worse for him, he eventually turned to his only living relative, his uncle, who took him under his wing. His uncle turned out to be a Black Ghost engineer who gave him to Dr. Marshall for experimentation. Orlando had tried to escape after he saw the deal being made but was captured in extreme condition after being shot several times and taken by force.

Post-Cyborg History:

After experimentation, Orlando was confined in quarantine because of a sudden drawback that occurred from the injection of the DNA serum. Unfortunately, he had also gone blind which left him held back even longer. He was later put on a three-man team as soon as he was fixed up.

Orlando is the leader of Team V. Even though his teammates Duarte and Cellese constantly fight with each other he still manages to keep them focused on their missions. He is strong and tactical, with stealth and surveillance being his strong point in fighting. He is resourceful and always has a game plan.

He doesn’t happen to have any feelings towards Cellese or 00B, but rumor has it that before his was captured he was previously engaged to a young woman back in Spain. Orlando had learned many languages in his studies back at home so he and Duarte speak Portuguese to each other. Sometimes they both do that just to annoy Cellese who can’t understand them.

Cybernetic Ability:
Serpentine Mutation:

Dr. Marshall had taken a sudden turn to the study of biological mutation and hired Professor Carlos Malfronte to aid him in his experimentation. Malfronte had developed a serum able to transform the DNA into that of any animals. Marshall was intrigued by the nature of the snake that’s stealth and deadly strike presented an opportunity to create a unique new breed of cyborg with useful abilities. Orlando was used as the first test of this serum, which was injected through needle. The serum proved successful and soon took over not only his physical appearance but his new genetic traits as well.

Eyes:
Orlando’s eyes had turned from brown to yellow in the transformation and his pupils have narrowed into slits. Unfortunately, he had lost his eyesight in the process. He was taken back to the reconstruction room to have his eyes fixed. He now has infrared-vision, detecting the heat of objects only instead of physically seeing them.

Fangs and Claws:
X-rays have shown that Orlando has developed a venom system in his body that is able to inject venom into his victims through fangs, which have grown spontaneously after his transformation. He has also grown claws, which surprised most scientists.

Body:
Close viewing of his skin has revealed the presence of hard scales that appeared to have blended in with his original skin tone. These scales are strong enough to protect him from the blades of knives or swords but were later refined to even withstand bullets. Orlando’s body is now harder to be detected by heat or infrared sensors since his transformation has caused his body temperature to drop drastically. He was trained in stealth combat to become a tricky opponent to his victims. His human organs are still able to function properly but his skin has now become cold to the touch.

Drawback:
The snake DNA that was given to him sometimes has a tendency to fully engulf his entire human DNA when in a state of mortal peril or when he is experiencing extreme emotions such as anger or sadness. He is suddenly transformed into a half-human half snake being that almost resembles a dragon. In this state Orlando is no longer in control of his emotions and will no longer follow the will of others.

This state has once appeared during his studies. He was so hard to control that they had to put him under quarantine to restrain him.

Orlando: Are you joking? I wouldn’t be within a hundred feet from her.

Duarte: That’s a lie. You’d sweep her off her feet! She’d swoon over you.

Orlando: Well… that can’t be helped.
